Connecting the dots

This site is designed to follow several distinct streams of concern that belong to a single large river of concern. Four themes I want to follow are: the practice of democratic organizing, the “democracy” we are organizing for, and the anti-democratic vision we are organizing against. The fourth distinct concern I want to pursue is the exercise of cognitive powers in a would-be democratic arrangement, cognitive powers, conscious and unconscious, each of us  shares as human beings. Some of these powers we exercise from the minute we are born, others we develop. We continue to exercise them all to a greater or lesser extent in our daily life. They include powers such as playing with one another, imagining, thinking, explaining to ourselves and one another, asking questions of one another, talking with and listening to one another, raising families, working together, experimenting, exploring, learning, struggling.
